Allenton Auto Centre is a local fuel station and workshop that has been going since 1953. It’s our family business and although our premises are based in the centre of Ashburton, we like to run it as a country garage, providing that personal, local feeling.  

This is why we love dealing with NBS – they perfectly align with what we are trying to achieve with our business, that small town, friendly community-minded approach. They trade like we do, and we love that.  

For us, being able to speak to the same person each time is a huge benefit of being an NBS client. Dave at the Ashburton branch is someone we can make things happen with as well as just chew the fat in his office and catch up. He goes above and beyond, as do the rest of the team. We have built up that relationship over the three or four years we have been NBS clients.

From what I know about large banks, it’s pretty rare that you can get hold of and talk to a branch manager at the drop of a hat. But that’s what we get at NBS.  

We have both business and personal banking services with NBS and although we do try to get into the branch when we can, we use the online banking services the most. Generally, we go into the branch when we have cash banking to do for the service station and the team in there is always helpful.  

NBS stands out from the rest by constantly delivering that personal connection as well as the huge amount of community sponsorship they do in our town.

On any given Saturday you can visibly see the support they provide the Ashburton area. All you have to do is look around at the sports teams who are out there doing it thanks to sponsorship from NBS. They walk the walk and talk the talk when it comes to community.  

Nothing is ever an issue and we are made to feel like they are an extension of our team and vice-versa. It’s that inclusive feeling that you don't get elsewhere. 

To me, banking for life is longevity. NBS is not going anywhere, nor are their clients.
