Strong communities matter to us. We help local organisations thrive by backing local initiatives that build wellbeing and inclusion. When we provide funding, we see it as a partnership. This code sets out our simple, shared expectations. Groups that we support will:

Use our funding well

• Use our funding for the agreed purpose

• Let us know early if plans need to change

Reputation and trust

• Act ethically, lawfully and in a way that builds community trust

• Not do anything that could bring NBS into disrepute

• Tell us straight away if you become aware of any potential reputational issues

Communications and acknowledgement

• Acknowledge our support where appropriate

• Share or tag us in relevant content connected to the funded activity

• Always check and get our approval for using the correct NBS logos

• Not imply levels of support or endorsement beyond what was agreed

• Share our marketing materials where you can

Working together

• Keep us informed of progress, successes and challenges

• Be open, honest and timely in your communications

• Let us know when your officers, trustees or committee members change

• Welcome opportunities for our members, staff or volunteers to learn about or support your work where appropriate

Good practice

• Always respect privacy and confidentiality

• Meet your legal requirements and the requirements in your governing documents

• Talk to us first if you're unsure of anything
