We’ve been together 23 years and have two children, Rocco and Milan. Dean’s parents Peter and Carolyn have used NBS for many years, so when it came time for us to get a mortgage to build our first home, we took their advice and went with NBS.   

11 years later we remain very impressed with the ease, efficiency and trustworthiness of dealing with NBS. We have everything with them – all of our personal banking accounts, the mortgage and even our children have transactional accounts with NBS.   

NBS has been really easy to deal with. They have very effective communication and the fact that nothing is ever a problem with them is the immediate thing that comes to mind when we think about our relationship with the NBS team. There are no battles, no compromises, we get good advice every time. We saw that with the mortgage – they had our best interests at heart.   

We think it’s the small teams who really know their customers that makes the difference. The team at NBS see us as individuals, not just a name on an account. We get a real, personalised service with them and can email back and forth with the same person who knows you and your financial history each time we need assistance.   

That friendliness and personal approach makes it feel like we are an extension of the NBS family. We feel valued, cared for. Going above and beyond for their client-base is nothing new for the NBS team. We even get a gift at Christmas!   

You see that in the work they do within the community too. We love how visible NBS’ support is in Nelson, and the fact that this support is reflected in parts of the community that we really value is very important to us. The Nelson Giants and Tasman Mako are just two of the many teams we love to support who also receive sponsorship from NBS, the alignment there is great. Supporting these teams is a way we connect as a family. NBS are visibly making a difference, and you can clearly see that with these community initiatives. It's all about care over profit.
