The team behind the Paroa Park Redevelopment project has received a welcome $1,000 boost from NBS, thanks to nominations from the West Coast community through NBS' winter community campaign.
The campaign invited people to nominate their favourite local club, school, sports team or not-for-profit organisation for the chance to receive $1,000. Following support from local nominators, Paroa Park Redevelopment was selected as one of the recipients.
NBS Greymouth Branch Manager Karen Atkinson said it was a pleasure to share the news with the team.
"We were delighted to let the group know they had been selected," Karen said. "Paroa Park Redevelopment is already making a positive difference for local families and children, and as NBS clients, they demonstrate how banking locally helps us continue supporting projects that strengthen our communities."
The project has previously received support from NBS, making this latest contribution an added boost towards its vision of creating an even better community space for local families to enjoy.
Paroa Park Redevelopment representative Poppy Gibson said the group was incredibly grateful for the support received from both the community and NBS.
"Every nomination means so much to us and we are incredibly thankful to everyone who took the time to support our project. This funding will help us move forward with the next stage of the redevelopment and brings us another step closer to completing this fantastic community asset."

Supporting communities across the West Coast
As a mutual organisation, NBS is owned by its clients and reinvests profits back into the communities it serves. Every year, NBS supports more than 300 not-for-profit organisations, clubs, schools and community initiatives across the top of the South and West Coast regions.
On the West Coast, this support includes organisations and projects such as West Coast Rugby League, Greymouth Squash Club, Kotare Netball Club, Westland United Football Club, Charleston Westport Coastal Trail Trust and Buller Sports Alliance.
Over the past decade, NBS has distributed more than $8 million in community funding, helping build stronger, more connected and resilient communities.
The winter community campaign was designed to celebrate the people and organisations making a difference locally, while giving communities an opportunity to recognise the groups that help make the West Coast such a great place to live.
Congratulations to Paroa Park Redevelopment and thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination.
