Lighting up Motueka High Street

Posted on 14 September 2022

Local retail association Our Town Motueka have been working hard to raise funds for the upgrade of the festive lights for their High Street.

Thanks to a donation from NBS, this project has become a reality and new lights will be installed ready for Christmas.

Claire Hutt, Our Town Motueka Coordinator said:

We are so pleased and full of gratitude that NBS have come to the party once more for our community and are sponsoring the purchase of new festive lights.”

She added, “The original colourful balls that have been used for many years, which were donated by the Rotary Club, have finally come to the end of their life. We are thrilled to have these new lights and can’t wait to see them in place in time for Christmas so that everyone living in and visiting Motueka can enjoy them.”

The lights will also be lit up during Matariki each year.

Motueka Branch Manager Ammie McHardy says that NBS is very happy to continue its support for Our Town Motueka, saying: “The organisation plays such an important role in stimulating economic activity in our town and creating a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. Everyone here at the Motueka Branch can’t wait to see the lights officially switched on.”
