Tom and Lucy Ingham | NBS home loan and personal banking clients
NBS clients, Lucy Ingham, a Nelson based lawyer and Tom Ingham, NBS Nelson Giant and teacher, share with us what banking for life means to them.

"Mum and Dad were already with NBS when we moved to NBS. We were with different banks for a start when we were at university. Mum really talked highly about NBS and how much she enjoyed banking with NBS."

For Tom, making the change to NBS felt right.

"For the Nelson Giants to then have NBS as their naming right sponsor, to see first-hand massive amount of finances they put back into the community is pretty special.

"You don't see any other banks at that grass roots level, really giving back. To be able to see that on a regular basis from NBS, that's pretty epic.

"A big one that resonates with me is the Giants in Schools programme that NBS really support and get around. I know when I was a kid, I remember the Nelson Giants coming into school, and to be honest, it really inspired me to play basketball.

Tom thinks this level of grass roots support is "awesome, and it shows out at our games. We've had twenty three consecutive sellouts. Basketball's cool, but I think the reason we're getting those sellouts is because we are so active in the community. And the reason we are able to be so active in the community is because of NBS."

Lucy shares Tom's sentiment. "It does make you feel good about banking there, we have been in Nelson pretty much our whole lives and the Nelson community is super important to us. It's important to our family.

"It's good to be putting your money somewhere that you can see that they care about their community as well.

These guys are giving so much back to the community from their money to their time. I mean, it just makes complete sense that kind of in a smaller town like Nelson, why would why would we not support MBS and make sure that they're flourishing and thriving? Because if they're flourishing and thriving, then the community is going to continue to flourish and thrive."
