Steve Hamlin - Regional Manager
Steve has a financial services background spanning more than 20 years. Starting in Commonwealth Bank Sydney, Australia in 2001 as a teller and working his way through various roles before moving back to New Zealand in 2010 to work as bank manager for Westpac Takapuna until late 2016 when he was approached by HSBC Bank to become the area sales manager leading a team of 23.
Steve grew up in Christchurch and has always wanted to move back to the mainland, getting an opportunity when his wife found a role in Nelson.
“I pride myself on being really honest with the players around me and the management group. I am who I am, I’m not trying to be anyone else. Skill set wise I know what works and what I believe in, and I drive that. The players appreciate being honest and not sugar coating anything. They thrive on detail and we make progress”
Steve’s passions are travelling with his family, rugby, cars and his highlights apart from getting married and having a daughter are becoming a bank manager and hiking to Mount Everest base camp in 2014.
