Ashburton Christian School has received a $1,000 boost from NBS after being nominated by members of the Mid Canterbury community as part of NBS' winter community campaign.
NBS invited locals to nominate a local club, school, sports team or not-for-profit organisation that makes a positive difference in their community. Thanks to the support shown through community nominations, Ashburton Christian School was selected to receive the funding.
NBS Branch Manager Dave Jones said the campaign highlighted the important role local organisations play in bringing communities together.
"It was fantastic to see so many nominations come through for groups making a real difference across Mid Canterbury. Many of these organisations rely on volunteers, fundraising and community support, so we're pleased to be able to recognise their contribution and provide a little extra help through this campaign."

The $1,000 prize was presented to head students Tessa Jordaan and Isope Maile and will be used to support initiatives within the school.
As a mutual organisation owned by its clients, NBS reinvests profits back into the communities it serves. Every person who chooses to bank with NBS helps support local projects, organisations and initiatives that strengthen the regions we call home.
"The more people who choose to bank locally with NBS, the more we can give back locally," Dave said. "It's a simple model that creates real impact for our communities."
Each year, NBS supports more than 300 not-for-profit organisations across the top of the South and Mid Canterbury regions. In Mid Canterbury, this includes organisations such as Netherby School, Mid Canterbury Netball, Tinwald Rugby Club and Connecting Mid Canterbury Charitable Trust.
Over the past decade, NBS has distributed more than $8 million in community funding, helping create stronger, more connected and resilient communities.
The winter community campaign was created to celebrate these local connections and give people an easy way to recognise the clubs, schools, teams and organisations that make a positive difference where they live.
Congratulations to Ashburton Christian School and thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination and support their local community.
